Unlocking Potential: Employment and Down Syndrome

Drawing on my job as an employment and enterprise worker; I address the social barriers that prevent people with Down syndrome from entering employment, and why my job is very much needed in today’s society. As an employment and enterprise worker for a Cheshire charity that supports people with Down syndrome I support young people with Down syndrome to help them achieve their career aspirations; this may be through paid employment, supported internships or work experience. Additionally, I engage with local business across Cheshire to help them create an inclusive and diverse workplace environment.
